Thermafoil® TIM Thermal
Interface Materials from EGC Enterprises [The Advantages of Anisotropic Material] Due to the natural graphite composition of Thermafoil®
TIM, the thermal conductivity is very directional or "anisotropic."
Along its length and width (x-y direction) the thermal conductivity is
120-200 W/mK, or about 20-30 times greater than through the material thickness
(z direction). This unique directional property leads to numerous advantages
in heat management. Thermafoil will dissipate or spread the heat resulting
from irregular loading, surface distortion and uneven temperature distribution.
In addition, the anisotropic behavior of Thermafoil® TIM reduces temperature
variation between the point source and the heat sink. Thus, you achieve
the maximum benefit of the heat sink. Finally, the anisotropy of Thermafoil®
TIM enhances the area of effective heat transfer. The end result is a
cooler operation and improved efficiency of your point heat source and
fewer temperature-related failures. No other interface material can offer
the thermal performance advantage across the entire heat sink as Thermafoil®
TIM. Click below for more information: High Thermal Conductivity with
